It's a terrible, debilitating condition that negatively impacts the lives of millions of people. We need MONEY to improve the lives of people suffering from epilepsy, and maybe even find a cure. It's that simple. There is an $87 million funding deficit for epilepsy research.
We don't need more drugs to manage symptoms, many of which cause their own adverse side effects. We need cures: meaningful advancements, gene therapies, novel surgeries, holistic patient management, definitive medications, and other treatments that actually cure epilepsy, not just manage it. Our biggest outreach event this year is the Haute Route Alps bike race event from August 24-30. It is an 800km event with 18,800M of elevation gain through the French and Italian Alps.
